Signatory of the Biodiversity Charter since 2016
A signatory of the biodiversity charter proposed by the Eurométropole of Strasbourg since 2016, the Group is committed to carrying out concrete actions for biodiversity, and strives to multiply them on its various sites.
- abandonment of the use of chemicals for the maintenance of green spaces (pesticides, chemical fertilizers)
- reduction of light pollution
- wildlife protection: refuges, permeability of fences and removal of dangers
- installation of a green wall
- installation of a collective composter or a vegetable garden
- collaboration with landscapers and local stakeholders who are themselves signatories of the charter
- highlighting biodiversity in the Group's communications, including illustrations of species from the Alsatian Ried: the Eurasian curlew, the marsh starwort, the dubious saltwort and the coppery bistort butterfly.

On June 29, 2022, the SCHROLL Group signed the new version of the “All united for more biodiversity” charter initiated by the City and Eurométropole of Strasbourg. During this ceremony, the Group was awarded the “Committed” level in favor of biodiversity.


Global, measurable and sustainable actions
The culture of respect for the environment has driven the SCHROLL Group since its creation. With all its employees, the SCHROLL Group favors technical solutions with a lower environmental impact. Here are the actions developed in this direction within the Group:
- Improvement of air quality in sorting cabins
- Renewal of the vehicle fleet to EURO 6* standards
- Eco-driving training and travel optimization
- Awareness campaign to reduce the environmental impact of administrative activity: unnecessary lighting, heating control
- Installation of the Fleet energies device (https://www.fleetenergies.io/fr) to measure the consumption of the Group's heavy vehicle fleet in real time using ultra-precise measurement technology
- Waste recycling
- Implementation of a responsible purchasing policy

Framed actions
SCHROLL is ISO 9001 and 14001: 2015 certified for its environmental management system. This certificate was issued by the DQS organization.
