High-performance sorting for the environment

ALTEM is a recycling center for separate collections of household waste, serving communities. Commissioned in 1998, the site was largely modernized in 2022 as part of the transition to extending sorting instructions to all plastic packaging.

Missions

  • Reception of household waste from separate collection
  • Control and sorting, automatic and manual, to separate paper, cardboard, plastic bottles and packaging, food cartons, steel and aluminum packaging. These steps are essential to be able to then recover each type of waste
  • Baling and shipping recycled raw materials to production units that will manufacture new products

By precisely sorting household waste to fuel the circular economy, ALTEM acts to protect the environment and preserve the planet's natural resources.

 

And that's not all !

ALTEM has a characterization laboratory which makes it possible to precisely analyze the compositions of the collections received as well as the quality of the materials produced. More than 500 samples are analyzed each year. The center is ISO 9001 and 14001 certified.
