Eco organizations
Eco organizations are private companies, responsible for regulate recycling and recovery within their field of competence. An eco-organization must meet specifications defined by the State for each sector.
Extended Producer Responsibility (EPR)
Companies that put products on the market must pay an eco-contribution to their eco-organization each time they sell a product. This ensures that the collection, sorting and processing of said product will take place once it has become waste. This system is based on the polluter pays principle. Thus, the cost of treatment is borne by the company that marketed the product and no longer falls on taxpayers.
